We're looking for an Adult Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner - Whittier, CA

About the Opportunity:

The Adult Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner functions in an Advanced Practice role as a clinical expert in the care and admission of stable adult patients in the Emergency Room. Practicing within developed Standardized Procedures the nurse practitioner evaluates the patient to be admitted, summarizes the clinical findings in a history and physical, places appropriate orders for inpatient or observation care and collaborates with the admitting physician for the plan of care.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrate expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of general medical illnesses.

  • Effectively communication plan of treatment.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal and conflict resolution abilities.

  • Talking or hearing essential to communicate with patients and staff.

  • Good communication skills; read, speaks and writes English fluently.

  • Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.

Required Experience

About You:

To be successful in this position, you'll need to have the following:

  • Current California Nurse Practitioner license

  • Graduated from an accredited NP Master's Program

  • One to two (1-2) years previous Hospital NP experience required

  • Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements

  • Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner

  • BLS and ACLS; must be issued through AHA
