  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related health care field

  • Minimum 1 year clinical experience required

  • Current Florida State Registered Nurse license

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills

Facility Profile: AdventHealth Kissimmee is a 163 bed community-focused hospital, conveniently located near Walt Disney World. The team here is dedicated to bringing mission-focused, faith-based care to residents and visitors of Osceola and Orange Counties. At the heart of our latest expansion is a new, three-story tower featuring 80 expansive, private patient rooms and a host of modern amenities and technologies. Department Profile: AdventHealth Kissimmee Surgery is comprised of 4 operating rooms and performs approximately 2500 annually. Our surgery department is supported by ambulatory surgery, recovery room, and sterile supply. Our service lines include orthopedics, GYN, ophthalmology, urology, general surgery, ENT, and vascular surgery. Our facility continues to expand to meet the surgical needs of Osceola County. As a member of the surgical team we will work together to deliver the best patient experience. Work Hours/Shifts: 4/8 hour shifts plus call; 11am-7:30pm Job Summary: The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups. Utilizes the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Adheres to the AdventHealthCorporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required: * Organizational and multi-tasking skills * Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures * Ability to work as a Team player within a unit * Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills * EKG (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing * Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred) Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required: * Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification * Advanced life support certification (ACLS, PALS, NRP) per specialty/unit requirements * For Radiology/Imaging, PALS required only for cost centers 4220,7211,6236 * Professional certification (preferred) * ACLS, PALS, NRP (based on patient population; See document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements) (preferred) Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates through behavior Advent Health's Core Values of Keep Me Safe, Love Me, Make It Easy, and Own It as outlined in the organization's Performance Excellence Program * NURSING PROCESS: Completes timely assessments per Practice Guidelines including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and life-style factors, including signs of abuse or neglect. Practice reflects importance of patient teaching and takes advantage of opportunities, both planned and unplanned, to carry it out in accordance with plan of care. * COMMUNICATION: Promotes an exceptional patient experience by abiding to compassion and image standards and fostering excellent nurse-patient relationships through effective/therapeutic communication with the patient, family, and visitors, including but not limited to and as applicable, hourly rounding. Exhibits desire to learn, teach, mentor and advance nursing skills. * RELIEF CHARGE NURSE (as applicable): Under the supervision of a manager, assumes authority of the daily operations of the unit/department and is the primary resource nurse for a specific shift. Manages staff accountability and adherence to regulatory requirements. The leadership responsibility includes but is not limited to facilitation of the team dynamics of patient care, patient experience and patient flow including managing staff assignments. Additional management responsibilities include effective conflict resolution, patient/staff rounding and communication, resource utilization, comprehensive hand off communication and completion of unit specific audits/checklists as required or assigned. * May perform waived and/or non-waived Point of Care Testing. If performing non-waived Point of Care Testing, as defined in AHCA rule 59A-7.034, must have approved competency and documented proof (copy of either diploma or transcript, at the highest level of academic achievement) at the time of AdventHealthnon-waived Point of Care training.
