Cancer Care Northwest (CCNW) is the Inland Northwest's premier cancer center, providing an integrated approach to the diagnosis, treatment and healing of cancer and blood-related diseases. We are driven by four founding principles: comprehensive treatment, innovation, compassion and an integrated care model. CCNW uniquely operates as a physician-owned practice comprising of eight clinics throughout Spokane and Idaho. We are currently seeking a full-time Nurse Navigator to join our team.
This position reports to the Nursing Manager and functions under general supervision. Oncology nurse/patient navigator is defined by the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators as "a medical professional whose clinical expertise and training guides patients and their caregivers to make informed decisions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to allow for timely cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, and increased supportive care across the cancer continuum."
You must be able to recognize and address numerous complications that occur during and after treatment and are instrumental in promoting high-quality and efficient care by educating patients, locating and providing necessary resources, and facilitating more effective communication among the cancer care team.
It is necessary to demonstrate knowledge of age specific differences in the cancer patient population including early adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. This includes physiological, psychological, and developmental differences unique to each group. Participates in company wide quality initiatives. Supports and adheres to the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards
