The Huntley Project School District is a four-day-a-week school district that seeks a motivated, team-oriented individual who would enjoy working with students and staff as a school nurse for the 2024-2025 school year.
Huntley Project is located in Worden, Montana, 20 miles east of Billings. We have a dynamic school district and a supportive community.
Huntley Project is a Class B school that runs a modified 4-day school week. We utilize Infinite Campus and Chromebooks to help integrate technology and resources into the classroom setting.
The individual would provide professional quality nursing service to individuals and students and nursing consultations to school staff. The responsibilities of the position would include:
1) Acts as a resource in promoting healthy practices and provides support during times of illness or concern
2) Maintains and evaluates cumulative health data to fit the individual needs of the student in a health room setting
3) Meet with other professionals to discuss Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students as needed
4) Provides direct health education and health counseling to assist students and families
5) Organization and ability to properly document each student’s health file
6) Administer first aid, medication, and specialized treatment to provide appropriate care for ill, medically fragile, and/or injured children according to District policy and procedures
7) Discuss students’ health needs with parents, other teachers, and counselors when needed
8) Providing plans of care for students who are medically fragile or require daily medications
Desired Minimum Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse License, ASN or BSN (preferred), Current Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN (with 5+ years of experience), with current CPR certification.
Standard Application Procedure: District Classified Application, Resume, and Letter of Interest. A fingerprint /background check will also be required.
Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:15 AM -3:45 PM, when students are in school.
The year has 151 days, with five additional days before and after for record management. This is approximately 1190 hours per year.
Starting Wage: $29.00-$34.00 per hour based on experience.
Benefits: $800.00 towards District Health Insurance and negotiated leave
