Location Information

Saint Therese offers a continuum of care and services available in a person's own home or in one of our five Twin Cities communities: New Hope, Brooklyn Park, Shoreview, Robbinsdale and Woodbury.

Rooted in history, Saint Therese of New Hope is our largest community. This care center has 168 skilled nursing beds for long-term and transitional care. In addition, the Residence at Saint Therese of New Hope houses 225 independent apartments and suites for assisted living and memory care.

Responsibilities

The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring that the facility is in compliance with government regulations. Demonstrates on-going assessments of resident's general condition and plan of care utilizing the nursing process. Manages and directs the facility staff to provide quality care, continuity of care and person-focused care. This position will supervise the nursing assistants, staff nurses, and volunteers.

Education: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the Minnesota Board of Nursing. BSN preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years nursing experience; 1 year supervisory experience preferred.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of nursing department functions with special emphasis on compliance with Federal and State Regulations

  • Knowledge of the scope of the Minnesota Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act

  • Demonstrated ability to participate in and collaborate with interdisciplinary team

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

  • Effective time management/prioritization and critical thinking skills

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Basic knowledge of computers and related software and particular familiarity with databases

In addition, the Residence at Saint Therese of New Hope houses 225 independent apartments and suites for assisted living and memory care.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>Provides assistance to RAI Coordinators in completing the RAI process/Resident Interviews for assigned residents, attending resident care conferences, reviewing charts and admission information and reporting areas of concern to the appropriate Clinical Coordinator, and attending discharge meetings when directed. Assists with onsite audits to ensure compliance.</p><p>Qualifications</p><p>Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; registered with the State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse; certification as a gerontology nurse preferred.</p><p>Experience: Minimum three years long-term care experience. Experience with MDS process, Case Mix, Medicare, Care Planning and Survey Compliance</p><p>Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p><ul><li><p>Demonstrated knowledge of State and Federal regulations, including Resident Assessment Instrument, Case Mix process</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated extensive knowledge of Medicare, HMO's and Managed Care</p></li><li><p>Good written and verbal communication skills</p></li><li><p>Demonstrates knowledge in ICD9/10 Diagnosis Coding</p></li><li><p>Flexible with time management and prioritization skills</p></li><li><p>Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with nursing staff and other departments</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated knowledge of software (Micro Soft, ROX, Facility Software, Excel.)</p></li><li><p>Ability to work with others in identifying and improving quality of care issues and solutions</p></li><li><p>High level of respect and commitment to working independently and with others.
