Located near the Texas Medical Center, Woman's offers 397 licensed beds, including a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) and a full range of women's health services and newborn infants.

More than 650 board-certified physicians at Woman's offer their expertise and an outstanding level of quality care in the areas of gynecology, obstetrical care, high-risk pregnancy and minimally invasive surgery.

The Woman's Hospital of Texas is currently looking for a Nurse Manager

This is a NIGHT shift manager position*

What you will do in the role:

To administer, analyze and appraise the care given to patients within designated Nursing Unit. To advise hospital management regarding the status of patient care, budgetary projections, quality improvement processes.

To anticipate and estimate future needs of the department to improve quality of patient care. Function as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of nursing staff with a focus on promoting clinical competence. To collaborate and coordinate the efforts of the staff of the department to accomplish the mission of The Woman's Hospital of Texas.

What you will need for this role:

This is a NIGHT shift manager position*

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree, Diploma in Nursing

PREFERRED: MSN

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

REQUIRED: Current RN license in Texas, BCLS certified, Medication Learning Module

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

Unit specific experience; Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice with emphasis on leadership and management experience.

Mother Baby, Nursery and/or Postpartum experience, required

What you will do in this role: * Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and/or Nurse Manager, responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and, when applicable, appropriately delegates and supervises tasks to provide optimum patient care. * Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures; as well as HIPAA regulations. * Participates in establishing, maintaining, and improving patient's health care goals through patient assessment, planning and implementation of nursing interventions and evaluation of patient outcomes. * Identifies and assists with opportunities for performance improvement activities on the unit and with other service areas. * Accurately and completely documents all aspects of care given. * Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by taking ownership of time management, decreasing waste (of time and supplies) and promoting cost effectiveness. * Demonstrates the ability to be an advocate for and strive to protect the health, safety and rights of the patient. * Interactions with patients and colleagues demonstrate compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth, and uniqueness of every individual, unrestricted by considerations of social or economic status or cultural beliefs. * Communicate effectively with other care providers (physicians, nurses, business office, and medical records) to provide for continuity of patient care and to meet the needs of the customers we serve. * Demonstrates ability to fulfill requirements of attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping practices. * Behaviors and interactions demonstrate a positive attitude, personal initiative and motivation to achieve the goals of the unit. * Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patients' (both mother and infant) care plans. * Involves and educates mother and family/significant others in implementing best practices for mother and infant care and breastfeeding. * Supports Texas 10-Steps to Successful Breastfeeding * To uphold the standards of the profession and organization and practice ethically and with integrity.
