JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Market Director Dialysis and/or Chief Nursing Officer plans, manages, evaluates, and provides for delivery of patient care, having 24 hour primary responsibility through optimal utilization of technical and human resources. Responsible for the management of the program and provision of all dialysis services. Responsible for the management, oversight and direction of a strong team of Dialysis RNs, Dialysis Technicians, and ancillary staff across various hospital locations for inpatient kidney care, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, slow low-efficiency dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, and apheresis therapies. Responsible for directing, organizing, and developing the hospitals' dialysis program. In this role, the individual will implement policies and procedures to verify safe and effective dialysis program, including supervising care, treatment, and overall patient care provided by dialysis staff.

Additionally, this role serves as a representative for the dialysis program within hospital management, meetings, and through general education and growth of the dialysis program within the hospital. Responsible for business and administrative activities such as:

Supervisory responsibility for patient care operations;

Development of operating and capital budgets, and monitoring revenues/expenses and capital budget for scope of operations;

Works with physician groups on evaluation of new technology, expansion of service lines, review of outcomes data for performance improvement and submits reports as required;

Identifies opportunities for performance improvement and continued clinical education, implements continuous improvement actions/plans.

Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines; and

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Registration/Certification/Licensure:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) within three (3)months of hire, and all requirements as specified for the specialty unit/department.

Experience:

  • Twelve months experience as an RN plus six months experience as a registered providing clinical nursing care to dialysis patients, in either a chronic or acute setting. One year of experience in inpatient hospital acute dialysis setting preferred.

  • One-two years in recent clinical leadership roles, experience in nephrology, dialysis, and/or critical care nursing experience preferred.

Education:

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing.
