Education and Experience:

  • Current state license as a Registered Nurse

  • Baccalaureate degree preferred

  • Current CPR certification

  • One year experience as a registered nurse preferred

  • Other relevant professional experiences or educational backgrounds will be considered as deemed appropriate. However, when licensure is required by local, state, federal or contractual guidelines, we will not alter our position on those requirements

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Work is performed in a clinical setting.

  • Work environment involves exposure to conditions such as fumes, noxious odors, dust, mists and gases; contagious or infectious diseases or hazardous chemicals and potentially dangerous situations that may require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.


Job Summary:

Schedules, leads and coordinates the shift's activities of facility nursing and support staff in a correctional facility nursing unit. Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines, Armor's and facility policies and accepted nursing protocols and procedures. Coordinates the services with other patient care units/areas and provides nursing services and patient care as appropriate.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare, monitors and coordinates the daily patient care activities of the unit to ensure all physician orders are implemented and all patient encounters are documented using the POMR format; schedules staff and patients to ensure full coverage of patient care at all times and to ensure effective patient services.

  • Leads, guides, and trains employees performing related work.

  • Designs, establishes and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives, recruits, employs, trains, supervises and evaluates professional and contract staff.

  • Oversees and provides direct nursing care and consultation to patients as required.

  • Coordinates services with other patient care units as required; maintains communication with allied services.

  • Oversees quality assurance and infection control activities and compliance to operational standards.

  • Participates in program development and implementation of operating policy and procedure.

  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmentalpractices.

  • Performs tasks related to storage, issue, and replacement of medical supplies, forms, and publications; and performs basic inventory functions such as receiving, verifying, and signing shipping documents for supplies acquired and verifying the quantity and condition of supplies ordered against purchase documents; investigate and reconcile routine and recurring discrepancies relating to actions such as receipt control, stock control, and inventory adjustments; and performs data searches at the request of senior staff.

  • Respond to requests from Security Staff as well as Armor Staff in accordance with Armor and Facility Guidelines. This includes following the rules and regulations for employee conduct/behavior and chain of command set forth by the command staff at all times while working within the detention/correctional facility.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Overview:Through a structured training program, the Department Manager Trainee will learn all aspects of the production, receving, shipping, systems and people aspects of the business. Throughout the training process, the Department Manager Trainee will cover various shifts and/or departments and will be increasingly responsible for directing and covering the activities of the plant to include meat manufacturing, sanitation and receiving (but not limited to) by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Oversees the off shift support groups such as maintenance, distribution, etc. Job Description: Responsibilities: * Take all measures to ensure distributor/customer total satisfaction. * Supervise daily operations of department and/or shift manufacturing operations for the plant. * Directs subordinates engaged in production, sanitation cooking and chilling. * Build and maintain an effective supervisory team. * Exercises good leadership and communication skills. * Ensure effective production teams and team building. * Ensure all production requirements are met. * Analyze operation on a continual basis to improve costs, quality and service. * Actively participate in the research, justification, and implementation in long-range planning of the facility. * Establish goals for yourself and the operation. * Actively participate/support in the management of department functions that include the following: Production Scheduling, Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving, Area Sanitation, Heat Processing, Product Chilling and other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager. * Assist in the training and development of all employees in area of responsibility, specifically Supervisors and Lead Persons. * Ensure all sanitary, quality and consistency requirements are met in area of responsibility. * Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of Total Quality Management (TQM) process. * Direct and enforce the Safety Program in area of responsibility. * Actively participate in capital expenditure requisitioning process, budgeting and goal setting. * Ensure required preventive maintenance is being performed on all department equipment. * Ensure all rules, policies and regulations of Company are enforced. * Oversees the off shift support groups such as security, human resources, quality systems, maintenance, distribution and first aid. * Approves off shifts time keeping and distributes payroll. * Represent the off shifts in the staff meeting on a daily basis. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or knowledge equivalent to such degree is required. * Five (5) to seven (7) years related industry experience required, preferably in food plant sanitation, smokehouse operations and meat-processing production. * Exposure to and/or experience in Quality Assurance, Total Quality Management (TQM), Hazard Analysis Control Critical Process (HACCP) and Safety are a plus. * College education preferred. * English/Spanish bilingual would be a plus.
