The Van Munching Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Unit is looking for a Nurse Manager to join their team! They would be accountable for the daily operations of the Van Munching Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Unit and In-patient Dialysis Program, including staffing, productivity, budget management, and service standards. They would also mentor and develop staff, interface with the other departments to assure patient throughput and collaborate with the professional development department to assess and identify the learning needs of the staff. The Nurse Manager would utilize both clinical and leadership skills to identify opportunities for performance improvement. They also participate in the selection, evaluation and coaching of the unit and program employees.
This position would be Monday through Friday from 7am to 3pm.
The scope of responsibility and accountability for the Nurse Manager continuously evolves to meet the demands of the practice setting. The following responsibilities may also vary based on the identified needs of Patient care Services.
Collaborates with the Director to maintain a competent staff through the selection process, orientation to the unit, competency development, and ongoing performance management. Identifies yearly competencies through interaction with staff and professional development department and facilitates completion of competencies.
Manages yearly labor and operations budget for Rehab nursing and dialysis program. Maintains unit operations with established fiscal year budget. Assists in the development of the capital equipment budget for the Van Munching Rehab Unit and Dialysis program.
Manages the clinical unit activities and the Dialysis Program in order to provide quality patient care and meet budgetary goals.
Responsible and accountable for the dialysis services on a daily basis.
Maintains established departmental and program policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance/performance improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Monitors productivity and adjusts staffing based on volume and acuity. Administers and monitors unit expenditures, including implementation of corrective action plan(s) to resolve budget variances.
Plans and organizes unit based Performance Improvement activities.
Ensures that unit staff members adhere to all internal and external regulatory requirements. Works with staff to understand the regulatory standards and professionals standards of practice.
Participates in the establishment of unit based goals and participates in organizational and nursing department patient care initiatives.

A minimum of three (3) years' experience in nursing supervision as a clinical coordinator or charge nurse.
Licensed RN is required.
Knowledge of CMS regulations regarding admission to acute rehab.
The ability to compile objective and measurable data and produce written reports is required.
The ability to develop and communicate written policies and procedures is required.
High level of competency with computers and computer software such as MS Office or equivalent is required. Specifically, the ability to perform data and statistical analysis using Microsoft Excel or equivalent is required.
Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and public speaking skills are required. Preferred professional nursing specialty certification within 2 years of hire
