Job Summary and Qualifications

• The Nurse Manager is the designated leader for a specific nursing unit.
• The Nurse Manager is responsible for the patient population and assigned staff.
• The Nurse Manager plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the unit activities.
• The Nurse Manager provides direction, support and guidance to the assistant nurse managers and aids in their development both clinically and managerially.
• Twenty-four-hour accountability.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

• Graduate of a School of Professional Nursing. BSN required.

Experience:

• Minimum four years clinical experience in area of specialty or related clinical field with one year charge experience.
• Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, experience in quality improvement, self-directed, excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

Licenses/Certificates:

• Current Registered Nurse license with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners or compact license.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BCLS.
• Current ACLS.
