Poinciana Medical Center is a four-story, 150,000 square foot hospital with 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU. We provide a full range of acute care services including emergency services, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging, inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiac catheterization, laboratory, pharmacy, and a full range of support services. Our ED is approximately 14,500 square feet and consists of 22 private treatment rooms, an EMS entrance and a helicopter pad.

Nurse Manager of Cardiac Cath Lab

Position Summary:
Provides leadership and directs functions of assigned patient care area on a 24 hour basis; ensure effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures.

  • Provides leadership and demonstrates responsibility and accountability for the delivery of safe, quality, patient care for assigned departments on a 24 hour basis.

  • Ensures department's standard of practice, policies and procedures meet legal, and all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements.

  • Directs the continuity of care through demonstrated use of interdisciplinary team approach to patient care.

  • Collaborates and shares pertinent patient information with physicians, patients, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient progress, and treatment.

  • Develops and implements ongoing programs to measure, monitor, assesses and to improve quality of care delivered to patients.

  • Works toward hospital-wide improvement in meeting core measure, patient safety, and service excellence goals in assigned units.

  • Ensures the effective coordination of the patient's care with other services and departments throughout the hospital.

  • Ensures provision of quality care and services by maintaining appropriate equipment and supplies.

  • Participates in rounding and proactively responds to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively impact overall patient experience.

  • Fosters a culture of patient centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment.

Education:

Nursing Diploma or ASN or AS required; BSN or BS preferred.

Experience:

Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.

Licensure:

Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire

Skills:

Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills

Makes appropriate decisions and interventions and nursing diagnosis according to patients actual or potential health conditions or needs. (American Nurses Association [ANA], 2012) * NURSING PROCESS: Based on the assessment and diagnosis, sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for the patient (ANA, 2012), assisting in the development and implementation of an individualized plan of care. Prioritizes and completes follow up assessments, evaluates and modifies plan of care as needed. Nursing practice reflects mutual goal setting and whole person care including meeting the needs of the mind, body and spirit. (King, 1995) * NURSING KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including, but not limited to lab results, non-invasive monitoring data and interdisciplinary team notes. Qualifications What Will You Need: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * Graduate of a school of nursing Education and Experience Preferred: * Bachelor's degree in Nursing LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: * Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification * Advanced life support certification (ACLS, PALS, NRP) per specialty/unit requirements * For Radiology/Imaging, PALS required only for cost centers 4220,7211,6236 Licensure, Certification, or Registration Preferred: * Professional certification * ACLS, PALS, NRP (based on patient population; See document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements) Job Summary: The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups.
