We are hiring a Nurse Manager to join our clinical care team at Harmony Hill School in Chepachet, RI. Harmony Hill School is a private, non-profit, day and residential mental health facility offering comprehensive clinical services to male youth aged 8-18 struggling with some of life’s many challenges.

As the Nurse Manager, the purpose of your position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of our Health Services Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards/requirements, and licensing regulations that govern our facility.

This position requires a seasoned and skilled professional with strong leadership and staff supervision skills, the ability to provide the highest quality of nursing care and the ability to engage collaboratively with the variety of disciplines; clinical, education, administrative, consulting physicians, etc. at the program. All are key factors of the position. Experience & Education: • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, college, or university, B.S.N. required. • Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island. • Must have at least 3 years of nursing administration experience with equal experience delivering nursing care to a pediatric population.

Other requirements: • Excellent communication and people skills. • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills. • Successfully pass the HHS training program including safety care management. • All candidates must clear Rhode Island state as well as federal background checks. • Authorization to work in the U.S. • Must have a valid, non-suspended, non-expired driver license and a good driving record • CPR / FA certified. Salary: $88,000.00 – $96,000.00 per year is the range. However, any employment offer will provide a compensation that is commensurate with experience, education and professional references.

Duties & Responsibilities: • The position is full-time Monday-Friday. Specific hours will be flexible to the department schedule and/or personal needs. Generally, the schedule includes day hours between the hours of 7am and 3pm or 8am and 4pm.

Schedule flexibility is key to the success of the department. • Provides on-call nursing care. Consults, advises and determines health needs of youth 24 hours a day, seven days a week. • This position works in concert with the clinical services team and directly reports to the Clinical Director. • The nurse manager plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the health services department and its members according to state and federal guidelines and scope of practice. • Develops all health care policies and procedures. • Oversees department staff including training, delivery of feedback and evaluation of department members. • Coordinates admissions and discharges. • Makes daily rounds of each dorm/unit and does a visual inspection on each unit weekly. • Provides quality nursing care. • Triage significant medical events. • Oversees the medication delivery process including pharmacy, processing of new orders, accurate documentation, etc. and the administration of medications to youth. • Oversees the scheduling of all appointments including, specialty, psychiatric, labs, toxicology screenings, etc. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all student health management areas. • Ensures the training of direct-care staff in all health-related skill development areas such as Naloxone, Epi pen administration, Medicine Administration and specialty trainings based on the needs of the youth including seizures, diabetes, etc. • Actively participate in school-wide planning and development as a member of the ‘Directors’.
