Job Summary and Qualifications

The nurse manager for TSON and Med Surg. Tele units is responsible for managing the daily operations and functions on TSON and Med Surg. Tele Units. The patient's continuum of care from admission to discharge is followed to ensure that all patient care needs are being met. The position assists in developing objectives, and policies and procedures which support the mission, vision and values of the hospital. The nurse manager serves in a leadership role and works collaboratively with the departmental staff, the medical staff, and all other hospital departments. The position is responsible for maintaining customer relations and satisfaction, compliance with accreditation and licensure requirements, the professional practice standards, and the unit personnel.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current CA RN License, BLS

• Preferred: ACLS, TNCC, PALS, NRP

• At least 5 years experience in an acute care setting

• Preferred: 1 to 2 years managerial or supervisory experience

• Graduate of accredited Nursing program. BSN or related degree

• Preferred: MSN or related degree

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, critical thinking ability, knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, and Emergency/Trauma/Critical Care

• Effective front line supervision, word processing/spreadsheet, time management, clinical proficiency, Title XXII, Quality Improvement

• Preferred: Completion of formal management training
