Job Summary:

The Nurse Manager oversees and manages the clinical and operational activities within the Department of Medicine including Women's Gastrointestinal Health, Endoscopy Unit, OB Medicine, Endocrinology, and Center for Primary Care. Responsible for Women & Infants Department of Medicine clinical operations, inpatient and outpatient endoscopy, and ambulatory clinics including satellite sites.There is a twenty-four hour accountability for program manager and program planning.

Must maintain 24-hour accountability for unit operations. Initiates, monitors, and/or participates in program development, implementation, evaluations and revisions. Sets, implements and evaluates program goals and outcomes in alignment with Women & Infants/Care New England strategic plan and mission.

The incumbent defines and establishes the program's goals and activities, communicates and monitors department standards.. Performs administrative duties, such as developing budgets in conjunction with the practice administrator, manages human resources, ensures regulatory compliance, and performs other job-related duties as required. Responsible for oversight and coordination of clinical competencies for all clinical staff in the Department of Medicine.

Specifications:

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Masters degree or proof of academic achievement toward a Masters degree in Nursing or related field and must be currently enrolled in a Masters program with a targeted date of completion preferred. Must have and maintain license as a RN in the State of Rhode Island.

Must have five to seven years nursing and supervisory experience in an outpatient setting, such as hospital clinic, health center, or large private practice, as well as teaching experience and quality improvement activities. ACLS and BLS are required. At least three years managing in an inpatient hospital/outpatient procedures/clinic setting preferred but comparable leadership qualifications acceptable.

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and oral/written communication skills required. Knowledge of computer applications and database management necessary, i.e. EMR/EPIC preferred, familiarity with procedural documentation systems.
