PeaceHealth is seeking an experienced nursing leader for a Nurse Manager role at St. John Medical Center in Longview, Washington. This is a full-time exempt position that will manage our 64 bed Medical-Telemetry unit with the support of an Assistant Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator.

Key functions of Nurse Manager role:

  • Demonstrate compassion, respect and caring while working within the scope of Registered Nurse practice to provide individualized, safe and efficient care to patients with an interdisciplinary team

  • Responsible for 24-hour day-to-day operations of unit: supervision of personnel; staff performance and patient outcomes; staff procurement and retention; regulatory compliance; and patient care. Evaluate work performance and conduct annual performance assessments. Delegate and coordinate responsibility for completion of departmental projects, tasks, and activities.

  • Assist with the implementation of strategic initiatives for the department.

  • Manage staffing levels required to provide optimum patient care ; assure quality of care by aligning assigned unit (s) with the hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards

  • Deliver financial results for area (s) of accountability.

Minimum qualifications for this role include:

  • Bachelors or Masters of Science, Nursing degree

  • Two years of leadership experience; 5 years of related experience required.

  • Work experience which demonstrates progressive leadership responsibility i.e. in Charge Nurse or supervisory role.

  • Demonstrate competence in area of expertise.

  • Financial and budgetary knowledge and experience.

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.

The Nurse Residency Program transitions new graduate nurses to competent nursing practice supported by evidence-based curriculum reflecting our Mission, Vision, and Values. Our 6-12 month program focuses on leadership, patient outcomes and professionalism. To qualify for this program, you must be a new graduate RN who has been licensed for less than 12 months with less than 6 months of Acute Care experience as an RN. To be considered for the program you must include/complete the following: 1. Resume & Cover Letter (required) 2. Online Application 3. Clinical Narrative - Submit a clinical narrative of 1 page or less. (This needs to be uploaded into your profile under the Documents/Certification/Licensure section).
