The Nurse Manager assumes 24 hour accountability and responsibility for excellence in the clinical and operational practice of nursing and the delivery of patient care by our Float Pool and Per Diem Team.
The Nurse Manager oversees floating and per diem Registered Nurses and Patient Care Technicians going to the Medical/Surgical and Step Down/Progressive/Transitional Units. This role will also oversee the Critical Care Float Pool. The manager of this role will work will work closely with the Nursing Professional Development Specialists and the Assistant Nurse Managers.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages nursing practice and care delivery of the Float and Per Diem Pool.
Assures compliance with regulatory and professional standards. Identifies priorities of leadership and management responsibilities and demonstrates the ability to delegate.
Enables a relationship-based care approach to care delivery on assigned units.
Promotes the autonomy of the nursing staff, encouraging independent decision making and problem solving. Supports and facilities a culture of nursing professional governance.
Responsible for staffing, and scheduling, allocating paid time off to meet staffing needs for the team.
Interviews and hires potential employees, assuring the technical and professional development of staff. Coaches, disciplines and evaluates staff.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of the budget in collaboration with Director of Access Services.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Completed BSN and Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree and Master's of Science in Nursing
Professional Certificate in a related nursing specialty required. Nurse Executive Certification preferred.
