Broward Health Medical Center is a 716-bed, state-of-the-art Level I Trauma Center and Ft. Lauderdale's largest healthcare facility.

Full Time Eligible 80 Hours per pay period. Days. Weekends as needed.

Current State of Florida Registered Nurse license required. BSN required MSN preferred. At least five years in nursing and minimum of 2 years in middle management in a tertiary care facility preferred.

Current BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association. Advanced fetal heart monitoring required. National certification in area of specialty preferred.

Prior Maternity inpatient experience required. The candidate will be flexible and adaptable with a willingness to meet the changing needs of the patients, departments and the organization by providing assistance and demonstrating the willingness to step outside the normal role. The candidate will participate in the change process by accepting personal accountability and will act as a positive facilitator of change.

The Nurse Manager will be responsible for the oversight, including but not limited to the planning, administering and evaluating the twenty four hour operation of the Pediatric Medical Surgical Inpatient & Pediatric Sedation Departments. The manager will be accountable and responsible for the professional practice, clinical outcomes, human resources management, financial performance, customer satisfaction and refinement in response to needs and trends. The manager must be able to work in a cooperative manner with all members of the healthcare team and have a high level of responsiveness with a proven track record of creating a positive work environment.

The manager must foster an environment of respect, sensitivity and inclusion for all. The nurse manager must be able to provide support and encouragement and provide constructive feedback for improvement when warranted through clear verbal and written communication and active listening. This leadership position will oversee approximately 50-75 employees and must oversee the use of staff and resources to provide exceptional outcomes while promoting financial viability.
