Nurse Manager, Hospice

JOB SUMMARY

• Responsible for the overall day to day management and planning of the patient care, directing and developing staff; demonstrating fiscal responsibility; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff; ensure an environment conducive to patient and family centered care at the end of life. Alternate nurse supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (or received within 12 months)

• Minimum Work Experience

• 2 years nursing experience.

• 1-2 years management experience.

• Experience with electronic medical record software systems.

• Required Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Nurse

• CPR

• Current Texas Driver's License

• Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Ability to carry out obligations and duties of position.

• Understands the physical, psychosocial and spiritual concerns/problems of terminally ill patients and families.

• Knowledgeable of quality assessment and performance improvement activities.

• Compose applicable policies and procedures.

• Compile and analyze reports.

• Compose letters/memoranda.

• Coordinate meetings.

• Interview others

• Proven written and editing skills.

• Research information

• Use computerized spreadsheets to conduct analysis.

• Strong computer skills.

• Supervises 30+ employees.

• May make home visits.
