Title of Position: Nurse Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Program: Medical Services
Supervisor: Medical Director/Clinical Director
Registered Nurse (RN) with knowledge of psychotropic medications and the specific needs of mental health patients preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language.
Basic personal computer skills required; experience with Microsoft Office software preferred.
Results of criminal and all other applicable background checks must meet the approval of Pawnee Mental Health Services.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide supervision to nursing staff to include scheduling, delegation of tasks, oversight and instruction.
Provide administrative support to the medical director.
Assist in the refinement of agency's electronic health record in respect to documenting medical services.
Update medical policy and procedures in cooperation with the medical director.
Provide nursing support to medical staff within scope of license
Facilitate client applications for patient assistance with various drug company programs
Attend staff and other meetings as directed by the Medical Director.
Provide health related education and consultation to clients on issues such as symptoms of mental illness, medication compliance, management of medication side effects, and management of other health conditions that impact mental health, transmittable diseases, nutrition, sexuality, hygiene, diet and wellness.
Collect, distribute, inventory, manage and secure medication samples.
Facilitate communication with pharmacies, local primary care providers, health department(s) and other entities as necessary to promote compliance with medical follow up and treatment recommendations.
Provide timely and thorough response to client phone calls regarding medication issues such as refill requests, medication questions, prior authorization for prescriptions, etc.
Administer and/or oversee the administration of injectable medications as necessary and as ordered by medical staff.
Maintain appropriate records and reports as required by the program, agency and/or local, state and federal laws.
Facilitate and/or participate in psychiatric services conducted via televideo including but not limited to accompanying client during visit as necessary, facilitating communication between client, family members and medical provider(s), assist medical staff with physical assessments (height, weight, blood pressure).
Other Job Functions:
Maintain and enhance knowledge and skills related to field of work through regular review of pertinent materials and attendance at training events.
Adhere to the standards, policies and instructions established by PMHS Policy and Procedure and any applicable ethical codes within field of employment.
Review and comply with the Pawnee Code of Conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management personnel.
