Texas Oncology is looking for a Nurse Manager (RN) to join our team! This position will support the BMT Department at the Dallas Sammons location at 3410 Worth St. Dallas, TX 75246. This is a Full-time salaried 8am-4:30pm position. Our Outpatient BMT Clinic is part of the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center Blood and Marrow Program, which has performed more than 6,000 transplants since the program's inception in 1983. The center provides services in hematology, oncology, BMT and cellular therapies and has been accredited by the Foundation for Accreditation of Cellular Therapy since 1998. We have extensive knowledge in CAR-T therapies and are an authorized treatment center for all CAR-T cellular therapy products currently approved for hematologic malignancies. Our clinic has its own infusion area with the capability to do outpatient transplants, laboratory and procedure rooms for bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures, as well as a clinic & triage area for consultation, preparation and follow-up care for cellular therapies. We have a team of dedicated staff members, as well as a group of passionate providers.

What does the Nurse Manager (RN) do?

The Nurse Manager will work in conjunction with, and by the direction of, the Director of Nursing Services, if applicable, to provide nursing support for operations to existing practice locations and newly acquired practices by consulting and advising clinicians on best-practices, implementing of/providing education and training programs, and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives

  • Collaborates with practice management to provide support on operational projects such as site Quality Committees, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative site assessments, Advancing Care Information, the Oncology Care Model (OCM), and other special projects as assigned.

  • Facilitates the implementation and/or utilization of outcomes data and evidence-based practices

  • Facilitates implementation of standardized best practices within the organization.

  • Ensures practice standards of care are consistent with community standards of care.

  • Ensures the incorporation of clinical evidence into existing and newly developed standards.

  • Staff Development

  • Assess staffing levels and issues, patient flow, current practices in the clinical setting.

  • Assists with the development of company-wide clinical competency testing and skills validation programs.

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime.

  • Nurse Manager position is responsible for Supervising employees in the transplant program including infusion nurses, medical assistants, transplant RN coordinators and coordinator assistants. The BMT Nurse Manager is responsible for maintaining, reviewing, & editing the cellular program outpatient SOPS, ensuring FACT guidelines are being followed, and assisting the data team for reporting outcome data to the CIBMTR

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Nurse Manager (RN) will have the following background and experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.

  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.

  • Minimum 5 years actively practicing as a registered nurse.

  • 5 years of leadership experience.

  • OCN certification preferred.

  • Current CPR certification required.
