At Carlson Recovery Center in Springfield, MA, the Nurse Manager strives to understand the clinical challenges of individuals seeking treatment and develop innovative care plans based on the complex and pervasive needs of individuals and their families with a focus on a strengths-based model. She/he is able to empathize and establish healthy therapeutic relationships, respecting and advocating for their patient's rights and beliefs.

Furthermore, the Nurse Manager is a leader within the Carlson Recovery Center, developing educational programs for and coaching nurses to ensure high quality of care in addition to resolving daily operational issues. The Nurse Manager also plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and accreditation agency standards.

The Carlson Recovery Center serves those 18 years of age and older who are suffering from drug and alcohol addiction within the first 5-7 days of their recovery. The 32-bed program is also open to those who are under a court order to seek treatment. A 24-hour multidisciplinary team, including a Medical Director, a board-certified Family Physician, and an Addiction Medicine Physician, provides acute treatment and detoxification services.

Job Requirements

The Nurse Manager at Behavioral Health Network's Carlson Recovery Center has the following qualities:

  • Minimum of a current RN license by Massachusetts Board of Registration.

  • Associate's Degree (required); Bachelor's degree (preferred).

  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge of quality assurance and CARF standards.

VIEW JOBS 7/2/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-09-30T00:00 What You Will Do: As a hospice case manager for Amedisys, you will have a special opportunity to provide, coordinate and direct the provision of hospice nursing and palliative care to terminally ill patients in their home. You will closely collaborate with the attending physician, patients and their families, and other members of the patient care team to provide and maintain continuity of patient care to achieve excellent pain and symptom management and high quality end-of-life care for the patient. * Assess and reassess all physical, environmental and emotional factors to determine hospice needs for patients in the home setting * Works in cooperation with the family/caregiver and IDT to meet the emotional needs of the patient/family/caregiver. * Utilize a combination of agency resources and nationally recognized standards of practice to achieve excellent pain and symptom management and high quality end-of-life care. * Coordinate the total Plan of Care and maintains continuity of patient care by liaising with appropriate staff and the physician. * Actively participates in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) conferences. * Provide supervision and evaluation of aides and nurses. * Attend funerals/calling hours when appropriate as assigned by the bereavement coordinator. Required: * Current and unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse specific to that state the employee is assigned to work by the Company. * Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a registered nurse * Current CPR certification * Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation and agency required liability insurance to complete home visits Preferred: * Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree * Previous home health or hospice experience * Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) Amedisys is an equal opportunity employer.
