Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager to join our client’s healthcare team. As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our nursing department, ensuring optimal patient care and efficient workflow. You will lead a team of nurses and support staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. The Nurse Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards of nursing care, implementing policies and procedures, and promoting professional development among team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Provide effective leadership to the nursing staff, overseeing their day-to-day activities, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and best practices.

  • Develop day-to-day management and long-term planning of patient care to promote and restore patients’ health.

  • Ensure quality of care by interpreting hospital and nursing division standards.

  • Enforce adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice requirements.

Staff Supervision:

  • Manage staffing levels, schedules, and assignments to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

  • Recruit, select, orient, and train nursing and auxiliary staff to maintain staffing levels.

  • Maintain nursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

Quality Assurance: 

  • Monitor and maintain quality assurance standards, conducting audits and implementing improvements as necessary. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

Patient Care Coordination: 

  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans and ensure seamless transitions of care.

  • Provide information to patients and the healthcare team by answering questions and requests.

  • Provide physical and psychological support to patients, as well as their families and friends.

Budget Management: 

  • Participate in budget planning and management, optimizing resource allocation and controlling costs within the nursing department.

Education and Training: 

  • Facilitate ongoing education and training programs for nursing staff, promoting professional growth and development.

Conflict Resolution: 

  • Address and resolve conflicts or issues within the nursing team, fostering a positive and respectful work environment.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  •  Analyze nursing department data and prepare reports for senior management, highlighting key performance metrics and areas for improvement.

Emergency Response: 

  • Act as a resource during emergencies or crises, providing guidance and support to nursing staff to ensure effective response and patient care.

Continuous Improvement: 

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the nursing department, implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

Licensure: 

  • Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

  • Certification in Nursing Administration (CNML) or similar credential.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Clinical Expertise: Profound knowledge of nursing practices, standards, and protocols to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

  • Team Building and Development: Skilled in recruiting, mentoring, and motivating a cohesive nursing team to achieve organizational goals.

  • Effective Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders effectively.

  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations and implement effective solutions.

  • Change Management: Experience in leading and managing change initiatives to adapt to evolving healthcare needs.

  • Quality Improvement: Proficient in utilizing data-driven approaches to monitor and improve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Thorough understanding of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards to ensure compliance.

  • Resource Management: Expertise in budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and control costs.

  • Conflict Resolution: Skill in resolving conflicts and promoting a positive work environment through effective mediation.

  • Knowledge: Proficiency in healthcare management principles, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively manage a diverse team and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals.

Salary:

  • Salary Range: GBP 5,000 (Tax-free) based on experience and country of origin.
