Provides practical nursing care to patients in accordance with the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and PNHS policy. Provides safe and effective nursing care by promoting a safe, therapeutic environment and by advocating for the best interests of individual patients.

Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights. Education/Experience: Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.

One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine). Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses: Strong clinical and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the Nurse Practice Act and PNHS.

Basic computer/keyboarding skills required. Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing and skill in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Additional Information

The Women's Center ObGyn Clinic is comprised of 25 clinicians and shares space with a number of other disciplines. This position will work as an LPN with a variety of providers and include duties that directly support our entire clinic as a Department Assist.

The nursing role is comprised of rooming patients, administering injections, offering patient support and working with the nursing team. This position will also be a department assist role that includes instrumentation processing, infection prevention and inventory maintenance for supplies throughout the clinic. This position starts as a dual role of LPN and Department Assist but may have the opportunity to either grow in this position or shift to primarily nursing in the future.To achieve success in this role the candidate should be able to communicate in a professional manner with patients and other team members, have the ability to prioritize duties and enjoy being up and about rather than sitting at a desk for prolonged periods of time.

A background in Epic and ObGyn is helpful but not required. New grads and MA will be considered.The Methodist Campus offers free parking and contract parking, a newly remodeled cafeteria, coffee shop, employee health department, and membership option to our gym.
