Nurse Intern

Position Summary: Provides basic nursing care to patients, under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Every opportunity will be given to observe and support the role of the Registered Nurse.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

Currently a student nurse enrolled in senior year of an accredited school of nursing.

For ASN the summer before the senior year. For BSN during the Junior Year Minimum Experience: On-the-job training and sufficient previous clinical experience as a student nurse Required Training Course(s): American Heart Association

• Basic Life Support Provider Certification Physical Demands: Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs.) Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients Lifts supplies/equipment Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching Working Conditions: Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness) Subject to varying and unpredictable situations Handles emergency or crisis situations May perform emergency care Subject to long irregular hours Pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries
