Nurse Intern Ccu/Pcu

The Nurse Intern performs and assumes responsibility for non-professional Nursing duties in the direct care of patients within a designated time frame under the direct supervision of an RN in accordance with established Henry County Medical Center policies. The ages of the patients normally served are neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Exceptions include no neonates in surgery and no neonates, pediatric or adolescent patients in psychiatry

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Training Graduate of Accredited Registered Nursing Program or currently enrolled in last semester of nursing courses.

Licensure/Certification:

Registered Nurse licensed in Tennessee. Nurse Intern is eligible.

BLS: All Clinical Nurse Interns

Employee must obtain Basic Life support (BLS) Certification with 6 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment. Failure to maintain certification may result in corrective action.

Experience:

Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program; New graduates are welcome.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting 50 lbs., walking 3 miles per shift, pushing 300 lbs. Must have full use of both upper (to include hands/fingers) and lower extremities.

Must be able to see with corrective eyewear. Must be able to hear with assistive device.
