We're looking for someone to join our team as a Nurse Informaticist who:
Performs a variety of duties related to clinical information system (CIS) applications that intersect and influence clinical practice. Supports projects related to enhancement of the software and related processes. Seeks to optimize performance and utilization of the EHR. Supports projects using process improvement techniques and expertise with CIS. Serves as a subject-matter expert and makes discretionary and joint decisions using clinical judgement regarding clinical workflow and processes as they relate to CIS applications.
Utilizes resources to optimize clinical software utilizing established standards and protocols. Works with subject matter experts to gather specifications for the purchase, development, and installation of clinical systems. Evaluates user requests for special enhancements to clinical systems and develops solutions.
Assist in analyzing existing methods/workflows and developing alternatives to increase operations and production efficiency. Identifies potential process-specific problems and works collaboratively to develop strategies to mitigate or resolve risk.
Researches, documents, and facilitates resolution to issues reported by end-users. Tests clinical software per checklist guidelines and develops test scenarios.
Develops and follows project work plans. Leads and participates in user group meetings. Develops initiatives to support change management within impacted departments across the enterprise
Identifies potential areas where policies/procedures require development or change. Periodically assesses how users are progressing with their use of clinical applications and develop optimization/training collaboratively with educational experts to further develop user proficiency, and satisfaction.
You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing: Required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing: Required
Ongoing education required: obtain 15 CEUs yearly in nursing, medical, or health informatics. The CEUs must be acceptable by the ANCC
Three years' experience working in direct patient care, acute or critical care: Required
Experience as a charge nurse, unit leader, council leader, system trainer, or other experiences in directing nurse operations or training: Preferred
Nursing Informatics Board Certification in from the American Nursing Credentialing Center: Required
to obtain within 12 months of hire/transfer.
Maintains ANCC Board Certification in Nursing Informatics or other equivalent informatics certification based on department Director approval.
RN in-state where home work site is located. If licensure is out of state, the candidate must obtain and maintain in-state certification within 12 months of hire into the position.
