The Department of Corrections is constitutionally and statutorily mandated to provide for the health and welfare of offenders committed to the custody of AK DOC. In an ambulatory care setting, the Division of Health and Rehabilitation Services (HARS) provides essential healthcare in secure facilities serving sentenced and un-sentenced offenders ages 16 and older. VIEW JOBS 3/14/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-12T00:00 This position directs institution wide, specialized programs at New Lisbon Correctional Institution including, but not limited to religious services, records, and recreation. The incumbent will supervise professional and support staff, and serve as liaison with Departments, Divisions and outside agencies regarding specialized programs, services, activities and litigation matters. The incumbent is responsible for diverse administrative responsibilities necessary in managing a complex multidisciplinary institution. Special Notes: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment. Applicants who fail or refuse the drug screen will not be given further consideration for employment. Qualifications: Minimally qualified applicants will have experience, education, and/or training in the following: Program planning, coordinating, and administration (for specialized programs, services, and activities e.g. religious, recreation, volunteer services, records office, treatment, reentry, community services, safety and security, etc.) Performing supervision or lead worker activities (e.g. hiring, assigning, directing, and evaluating work; disciplinary matters, investigations, providing training, etc.) Developing, interpreting, and implementing policies and procedures (e.g. evaluating needs, issue/problem identification, proposing solutions, etc.) Well qualified applicants will have: Coordinating litigation matters (e.g. reviewing documents, affidavits, etc., responding to legal requests, acting as a liaison with legal entities such as the Department of Justice, etc.) Managing, developing, and preparing budgets State Of Wisconsin Juneau AK
