CENTRAL REGIONAL HOSPITAL

We are recruiting for Registered Nurses to function as Nurse Facilitators within the Psychosocial Treatment Program at Central Regional Hospital. The primary purpose is to provide psychiatric-mental health nursing care as outlined by the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (2007). Duties include providing patients with nursing group programming, therapeutically communicating with patients not engaged in assigned program, staff-in-service training, and, when required, providing direct supervision to other licensed and non-licensed staff. Position may function as advisor with the clinical treatment units (Acute Adult Unit, Community Transition Unit, Geriatric Services Unit, and Forensic Services Unit) and have input into treatment plans.
This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package, including health insurance and retirement. The normal work hours are M-F 8:00am-4:30pm or M-F 7:30am-4:00pm, with some weekends as scheduled.

Qualified applicants must possess and application clearly reflect education/work experience that demonstrates the following:
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of psychiatric nursing for the age groups served;
Ability to utilize the nursing process and to collaborate with other health care clinicians/disciplines that promotes smooth provision of psychosocial services;
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;
Knowledge of supervisory techniques;
Basic understanding of principles of learning and their application in the direct skill teaching process of psychiatric rehabilitation;
Skill in relating expressively and supportively with adult with wide range of developmental phases and cognitive abilities;
Ability to utilize knowledge and information about cultural and ethnic backgrounds into assessment and treatment activities to include consideration of of cultural norms and values in assessments, treatment and training.
ADA physical requirements will be discussed in detail during the interview process but, at a minimum, include ability to pass and maintain CPR and NCVI certification, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
Management prefers previous experience in a psychiatric setting providing group treatments.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus (Effective 10/20/21)
Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:
A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);
(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;
(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
