  • Responsibilities

Job Summary:This job is responsible for providing cath lab nursing care of adult patient populations undergoing cardiac procedures in the cath lab to include inpatient, outpatient and emergent.

  • Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred

  • One year of related work experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

  • If assigned to the Procedure area - previous cardiac cath Lab experience or a minimum of two years experience within the past three years in an acute care setting, i.e., ICU, PCU, PACU ER.

  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump experience preferred.

  • Successful completion of department orientation.

License/Certification:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare BLS Certification

  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or within six months of hire

  • CCRN (Certification in Adult Critical Care) RN preferred

  • IV competency must be attained within four months, training is available.

An incumbent assists the physician with all procedures in the EP lab, including implanted devices and arrhythmia ablations; assists the physician during diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology procedures and device implants. Qualifications Education/Work Experience Requirements * Associate's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or related field or successful completion of a Radiological Technologistprogram, and one year of related cardiovascular technology work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities. Licensure/Certification * Current licensure as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CVIS) through the Washington State Department of Health AND * Current Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification (RCIS) as issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); OR * Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist through the Washington State Department of Health AND current Radiography certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). * Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification. * Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA). * If classified as Electrophysiology Specialist-Cert: Requires Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certification.
