Reporting to the Executive Director of the Walnut Creek Campus, the Coordinator is responsible for the overall operations of Walnut Creek Perioperative Services and WC MRI services, as well as any procedural services in the subspecialty clinics. Job responsibilities include input into budget development and management, personnel development and management, quality oversight, and department strategic planning.
This role requires consistent collaboration with medical staff to ensure the availability of surgery, infusion services, and diagnostic imaging appointments to meet community and physician needs. The Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Perioperative Services to ensure strong coordination between Walnut Creek and the Main Campus perioperative services. The role will collaborate with the Executive Director of Walnut Creek in organizing and participating in community outreach and assuring continued growth of services in the Walnut Creek Campus.
The role ensures staff/operations meet established state/local legislation and regulatory requirements. The Coordinator is a key member of the Hospital's leadership team and represents the Nursing Division on several interdisciplinary workgroups.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree (Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration) preferred. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
Minimum Experience: At least 5 years surgical services experience required. At least 3 years of leadership experience required, ambulatory leadership experience preferred.
License Required: Current California RN license.
Certification Required: CNOR or other nationally recognized nursing certification within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced communication, interpersonal, presentation and writing skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act and working knowledge of regulatory requirements. Good crisis management / prioritization abilities.
Basic proficiency with PC, word processing, spreadsheets. Prior experience with Electronic Medical Records (EPIC preferred)

This job requires the ability to hear alarms clients and/or instruction. The ability to see accurately from 20 inches to 20-ft. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function of this position.
Must be able to work 40-50 hours per week with ability to cover off-shifts and on-call responsibilities.
