Job Description:
Date Available: Commencing with the 2024-2025 school year. Official start date will be August 27, 2025, with some additional summer hours prior to start date.
Schedule: Contract salary is based on 181 days per school year with additional hours in the summer. A work schedule will be agreed upon with school administration but will primarily be based on the needs of the school and will be eight hours paid per day with a half hour unpaid for lunch..
Salary/Benefits: School nurses are part of the non-certified staff collective bargaining unit. Salary in accordance with bargaining unit contract - around $41.16/hour to $45.69/hour depending on level of experience. Comprehensive benefits.
Ideal Candidate Possesses:
BSN degree
Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of CT
Prior school nursing experience preferred
Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and maintain confidentiality of student and employee records and information at all times
Ability to maintain clear, concise health records for students and staff
Ability to deliver direct clinical services to students and staff in a calm reassuring manner
Ability to understand the needs of adolescents
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to demonstrate initiative and use sound judgment
