We are looking for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to focus on the specialty areas of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), Refugees Health, Family Planning, and Women's Health. This position will be full-time and onsite.
What You'll Do
This is an advanced and specialized clinical medical work, requiring focus on the specialty areas of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), Refugees Health, Family Planning, and Women's Health
The APRN will perform certain medical acts and procedures within protocols established mutually with the Medical Director
Collect, interpret and record health data from patients presenting in the STIs, Family Planning, Women's Health, and Refugees Health Clinics, including breast and pelvic exams, placement and removal of intra uterine devices (IUDs), provision of all forms of contraception methods within the boundaries of the State of Florida mandates
Perform annual physical exams for uninsured patients and comprehensive physical evaluations of refugees. Identifies and evaluates medical conditions and illnesses
Initiates diagnostic laboratory tests and evaluates all results in a timely manner
Advanced knowledge of nursing practice, familiarity with Title X guidelines
Participate in all screening and immunizations campaigns as deemed necessary by the Nursing and Medical Directors and provides immunizations
Within protocols established mutually with the Medical Director, initiate appropriate therapies consistent with the diagnosis
Oversee the work of all personnel assigned to assist
Utilize expertise to educate the patients, their families, staff and community
Participate in staff development, programs, and orientation
Assume responsibilities for maintaining current State of Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license
What You'll Need
Experience performing uncomplicated surgical procedures, administering prescribed medications, performing complete physical appraisals of patients, and identifying and evaluating illnesses
Experience initiating diagnostic laboratory tests and evaluating results, managing the care of patients, and compiling and evaluating medical histories and other clinical and laboratory data
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to operate general office equipment, ability to follow office procedures & practices, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, ability to understand, interpret & apply applicable rules, regulations, policies & procedures, ability to prioritize individual workload, ability to review data for accuracy & completeness, ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
