Position Summary:


Responsible for the daily activities of the nursing staff to facilitate optimal patient care. Collaborates with the Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist and others in the implementation and evaluation of nursing and causality assurance and all educational activities on assigned unit and related duties.Major

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates and carries out the educational programs for nursing staff such as inservice, Basic Life Support programs and continuing education programs.

  • Responsible for coordination of nursing activities necessary to meet patient and unit needs.

  • Keeps Nurse Manager informed of nursing workload, changes in patient and employee needs, and other problems.

  • Coordinates orientation schedule and assignments for orientees assigned to unit.

  • Assists clinical preceptor in teaching nursing staff defined competencies.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in nursing and current Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure and registration.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

Two years of current tertiary care nursing experience and one year experience in clinical preceptor and/or resource role. Demonstrated leadership experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Position: Full time 36 hours per week Hours: 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM Every other weekend and Every other Holiday Department: Infusion Center Responsibilities Responsible for the effective delivery and management of direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to standards of nursing practice. Provides appropriate care to patients ranging within the ages of infants to geriatrics. Provides pre-visit and post-visit telephonic support and patient education, populating the electronic medical record with historical information, lab findings, and preliminary orders to be reviewed by the physician at the next clinic visit. Ad-hoc visits to the clinical sites will be scheduled to enhance coordination of team-based care. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Currently licensed as a RN in the State of Massachusetts. Basic Life Support (BLS). Fifteen hours of continuing education every two years. Certification in specialty strongly recommended.
