Sign on Incentive Available Scope of care: The Intermediate Care North Unit is a 32-bed multidisciplinary 24-hour unit located on the third floor of the hospital.
Patients over the age of twelve may be admitted to this unit, but the average age is 65.
The most common types of patients admitted to IMCU North include patients with: ESRD patients (CAPD or Hemodialysis) either primary or secondary diagnosis, cardiac dysrhythmia, unstable angina, CAD, PVD, COPD, management of diabetes, CHF, general surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring postoperatively.
After the patient's plan of care has been determined by the team leader (RN), the Nursing Assistant performs various designated patient care activities necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort and safety of the patient in accordance with Hospital Policy and Nursing Service Standards.
Education/Experience High school graduation or equivalency.
One year direct patient care experience with successful completion of competency exam, completion of one semester of clinicals in nursing program or relative experience and/or training, or completion of nursing assistant certification required.
CPR certification recommended.
Completes annual skill validations as well as safety and infection control procedures.
