This on-call position is a member of an outstanding nursing and direct care staff at of the Fairbanks Pioneer Home and plays a vital role in providing person-centered care and support in a safe environment for up to ninety-one (91) elder residents.

What you will be doing: Provide high quality care to assisted living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner.

This position provides clinical and medication administration to residents and clinical support to the care teams. Focus will be on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of health care teams, and the promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes.

  • This position is in support of the Pioneer Home, which is a 24 hour facility.

  • This Pioneer Home is an Eden Alternative facility, where the environment includes contact with plants, flowers, and pets including cats, dogs, fish and birds.

Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska;

AND EITHER

Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Nurse 1 with the State of Alaska;

OR

One year of entry level experience as a Registered Nurse. Examples of this experience include but are not exclusively limited to prior service as a Nurse 1, Corrections Nurse 1, or Psychiatric Nurse 1 with the State of Alaska or its equivalent with another employer.

Substitution:

Combinations of prior training and experience as a Registered Nurse in other specializations of nursing care (e.g., Psychiatric, Corrections, Public Health, Critical Care, Surgical) will be evaluated for comparability on a case-by-case basis.
