Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Nurse 1: Candidate must be licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State, possess a limited permit to practice nursing in New York State, or be eligible to enter the examination for such license. You must obtain your NYS license within one year of the date of appointment or action will be taken to remove you from the position.

Nurse 2: Candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State AND have one year of post-RN licensure clinical nursing experience.

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Nurse's provide professional nursing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Services may include, but are not limited to, nursing interventions and their documentation, case finding, health teaching/counseling and provision of supportive and/or restorative care. They also participate in staff training, prepare clinical and administrative reports, maintain infection control standards, and function as a member of a treatment team. This is a Nursing position based in the IRA, and tasks will include working and providing services and care directly to individuals served.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform Nurse 1 or 2 duties and act as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Comments "Please note that starting salary for this title reflects the geographic pay differential. $52,455 - $71,557 - Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 14 ($45,455) or Grade 16 ($50,722), and Geographic Differential ($7,000). Geographic Differential added to the job rate ($52,455 or $64,557) for the PS&T Grade 14 or 16."

QIDP STANDARDS ARE: * The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) adopted the federal definition for Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) in all ICF/DD, ICF/DD-H, ICF/DD-N and DD-CNC facilities when the Federal ICF/IID regulations became effective in October 1988. * QIDP is a staff who is responsible for integrating, coordinating and monitoring each client's active treatment and who possesses: * (a) At least one year of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities. * (b) Is either a physician and surgeon, or an osteopathy physician and surgeon, a registered nurse, or a human services professional possessing at least a bachelor's degree in a human services field, including but not limited to sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling or psychology.
