What You Will Do:

As the Nuclear Program Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation and continued development of our Nuclear Quality Assurance Program (NQAP) for compliance with NQA-1-2022, Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications. You will mentor other quality professionals and provide leadership to project team members to ensure continued compliance with NQA-1 regulations, while satisfying contractual obligations on nuclear safety-related projects, with specific emphasis on geotechnical and geologic subsurface investigations.

  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure our NQAP complies with NQA-1-2022 and make recommendations for improvements or changes to the program as necessary.
  • Document Management: Prepare, review, and finalize programmatic documents associated with program implementation.
  • Audit Leadership: Serve as the audit representative when S&ME is audited by clients or regulatory agencies and provide leadership and direction in developing corrective and preventive actions when deficiencies are identified.
  • Supplier Evaluations: Perform desktop and in-person supplier evaluations to ensure suppliers have been properly evaluated and approved to perform nuclear safety-related work on behalf of S&ME.
  • Training and Development: Conduct virtual and in-person NQAP training for project team members and work with the team to develop effective project planning documents before the project starts.

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong working knowledge of all NQA-1 regulations, practices, and protocols, including root cause analyses, corrective actions, procurement, software validations, design analysis, auditing, and surveillance. Have familiarity with AASHTO accreditation and state/federal radiological materials licenses (nuclear gauges). Have an NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification or ability to obtain within 6 months. Have experience in building and maintaining client relationships, ensuring contract obligations are met.

Who You Are:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant Nuclear Quality Assurance experience
  • You have a Professional license (e.g. PE, PG), a plus
  • You have 10+ years of geological, hydrogeologic, seismic, geotechnical and related laboratory testing experience, a plus
