Job Summary
A Nuclear Outage Specialist is needed for the Surry Digital I&C Project. The Digital I&C project is a 10+ year effort as part of Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) to upgrade safety and non-safety-related analog systems to digital and transform the main control room to flat panel displays and soft controls. This role works with a cross-functional team of station stakeholders, engineers, project leads, and project managers to plan and coordinate online and outage scope and scheduling and represent the project team on station planning boards. Responsibilities include,
Representing the project team on Outage Focus Team (OFT) and Outage Integration Team (OIT) and Workweek Planning boards
Coordinating outage/online activities for the project department during the preparation and execution process
Maintaining outage/online and long-range plan for the project
Identifying work activities for planned outages and implementation schedule windows
Interfacing with outage/online management personnel
Coordinating and scheduling outage/online work activities within project department
Logging project status in the station's narrative logs
Communicating project status to multiple station stakeholders and workgroups
Representing the project team in the Outage Control Center as required
Presenting and processing outage/online Scope Change Requests (OSCRs)
Engagement and cognizant of ongoing and planned project activities
Compile and track post-outage lessons-learned
Develops and implements trending of critical and near critical path activities, with recommendations
Identify outage-related work orders and required periodic testing
Prepares monthly KPI data to meet station/fleet expectations
Perform other duties as requested or assigned by the SLR Supervisor of Nuclear Engineering Projects.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
Detailed planning and scheduling experience (p6 scheduling software experience preferred)
Has ability to inspire trust and generate rapport with individuals from different departments
Working knowledge of key software tools and applications (e.g. Documentum, SharePoint, eSOMS, Maximo, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint)
Effective presentation skills
Ability to communicate across multiple workgroups and audiences using multiple means of communication
Ability to drive alignment around planned project scopes of work
Detail-oriented and has excellent organization skills
Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Discipline(s): Engineering; Maintenance; Work Management
Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
