Illustrative Examples of Work Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through proper use of equipment.
Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed exams to radiologist, cardiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
Coordinates patient's examination to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care and assists with the management of the workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work efficiently.
Responsible for weekend, holiday and all on-call coverage.
Monitors inventory of supplies and notifies appropriate supervisor when stock is low.
Keeps radiology supervisors informed of any unusual concerns, situations or conditions relative to staff, patients and physicians.
Coordinates patient care and set priorities by proving critical care first, and by implementing the physician's orders Performs examinations in an accurate and timely manner by responding to changes in the work schedule: effectively handling interruption; functioning as a productive technologist; and completing assignments prior to end of shift.
Complete procurement, preparation, quality control, calculation, identification, documentation, dosing, administration, disposal, storage, and sage handling of radiopharmaceuticals per department procedure.
Adjusts routine to accommodate patient and department without affecting department flow.
Able to constantly concentrate on fine detail, with interruption, and attend to tasks for more the 60minutes Identifies each patient and reviews each patient's requisition, either hard copy or in the computer system for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information utilizing three (3) forms of patient identifiers, name, date of birth and medical record number per hospital policy.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Credentials and Abilities Ability to perform all required Nuclear Medicine Scan Examinations Knowledge of transferring and positioning of the patient and equipment.
Ability to select appropriate software/hardware and equipment imaging techniques.
Knowledge of Radiation safety & protection policies along with appropriate infection control policies implemented by the department and hospital.
Minimum Acceptable Experience and Training Completion of a Certified Nuclear Medicine Program..
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, or applicable specialty board (NMTCB) Associates degree preferred Two years of experience working/student in a Nuclear Medicine Technologist capacity
