Job Description:

Operates instruments in Nuclear Medicine to produce quantitative scintigram images and measure concentration of radionuclides in body organs and in-vitro laboratory procedures to assist physician in diagnosis of patient illness. Administers and records isotope dosages in accordance with established departmental protocol.

Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires successful completion of formal academic training in radiology technology. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine, and registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology certification Board, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Familiar with standard concepts, practices,

Responsibilities: Draws and collects blood samples according to policy. Verifies all related records. Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing according to protocol. Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures. Assists with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors. Assists with office duties such as OP orders, answering phone, faxing, and filing. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred. Certification specializing in Phlebotomy credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred. Medical Laboratory Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) preferred. Medical Laboratory Assistant credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred. Tech credentialed from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians.All issuing authorities accepted preferred. Education: High school diploma or GED required.
