1.Clinical Performance
o Gathers relevant information from medical record, family, and other healthcare providers.
o Verifies and documents pregnancy status when appropriate.
o Assesses factors that contraindicate procedure i.e.: medications, artifacts, required information, blood results, written orders.
o Determines the need for accessory equipment to maintain a high level of patient care and comfort.
2.Clinical Performance
o Provides accurate explanations and instructions at an appropriate time and place at a level of understanding necessary.
3.Documentation
o Documentation must be timely, accurate, concise, and complete.
o Documents any exceptions from established criteria or procedures.
o Maintains all records about the use of radioactive materials according to established guidelines.
o Uses doses related to ALARA and JCAHO to age specific weights and needs as established by state guidelines.
4.Demonstrates competence in performance of duties and responsibilities related to environmental assessment.
o Ensures that services are performed in a safe low radiation environment.
o Ensures equipment maintenance, PM's, and operation comply with established Biomed and manufacturer guidelines.
o Assesses equipment to determine acceptable performance.
o Performs area monitoring and surveys to assist radiation exposure levels and contaminated sites.
o Follows federal and state guidelines to minimize radiation exposure levels. ALARA
o Evaluates results of quality control testing on the radiopharmauticals.
o Evaluates results of daily floods.
o Performs and evaluates daily hotlab QC and maintains documentation.
o Follows emergency procedures for radioactive material spills or radiation exposure occurrences.
o Notifies supervisor of equipment malfunctions and tags equipment.
o Maintains adequate level of supplies and stocks examination rooms.
o Cleans, disinfests, and sterilizes equipment.
o Prepares procedure room with appropriate setup based on exam needs and department protocols.
5.Quality Performance Standard
o Educates the public about nuclear medicine procedures and radiation safety.
o Uses decontamination procedures when necessary.
6.Quality Performance Standard
o Performs QA based on established protocols. Submits ongoing QA/QC reports within specified timeframe's set by director.
o Performs appropriate quality testing on radiopharmauticals prior to administration.
o Stores rejected radiopharmauticals and prepares new doses properly.
o Technologist documents quality assurance activities and results: i.e.: radiopharmauticals QC.
o Provides timely, concise, accurate, and complete documentation per department timeframe's.

o Ludlum Survey Meter.
9.Demonstrates competence in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to PACS.
o Send exams to PACS from applicable modality.
o Understand / monitors the need to properly associate correct accession number to the study.
o Prints images from PACS view stations as necessary
o Queries / searches for patient / exam from workstations.
o Merges studies when appropriate.
o Understands icons, open study list, and utilizes query functions on MV 300, MV1000 workstations.
o Write to CD - ROM.
o Print images to film routes to different laser printers, when necessary
o Monitors QA / PACS workstation, provides audits and action plan
o Changing the output destination when using laser printers.
Experience Minimum Required
Board eligible in Nuclear Medicine
