Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a NRIC Senior Program Manager to work in our National Reactor Innovation Center. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our EROB facility with every other Friday off. You will report to the Lead Program Manager for NRIC.

The NRIC Senior Program Manager will be required to assist the Director with the management of the National Reactor Innovation Center (C300) division. Assigned responsibilities will be established between the director and deputy, with the primary focus on internal management, including emphasis on strategic investment and development planning coordination within the division, managing the division's indirect and assigned direct budgets, mentoring of department managers and staff, supporting personnel management, coordinating projects (direct and indirect), working with programmatic and support organizations, addressing conduct of research, performing assigned administrative responsibilities, and conducting assigned division activities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsibilities will also include: serving as a primary contact with MFC, ATR ,and TREAT for NRIC work being conducted there; determine professional development needs and strategic hiring needs in main areas for division growth and expansion; provide expertise in the area of advanced nuclear technology testing; in addition to supporting the NRIC Director, the deputy will support other director(s) and directorate-wide programs, generally in the above-mentioned areas. This support will be established on a case-by-case basis according to needs and expertise.

  • Inform and enhance communication as division liaison. Create networks and contribute to integration of programs across INL organizations (e.g. NS&T, NHS, ATR, MFC, and F&SS).

  • Be an organizational spokesperson to internal and external customers. Be an advisor to management and customers.

  • Establish long-range plans and goals to support NRIC portfolio. Work is reviewed through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of supervisor.

  • The NRIC Senior Program Manager will also oversee the overall human capital management of the division.

  • As a leader in the Nuclear Science and Technology Directorate, the NRIC Senior Program Manager creates a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and diversity with focus toward the professional development of staff.

Minimum Requirements:

BS and 12 years of experience, MS and 8 years of experience, PhD and 6 years of experience

  • Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline with commensurate experience in the field of nuclear technology, systems, and research & development:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in line management with technical management responsibilities for an engineering group .

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on nuclear systems design and analysis; experience and working knowledge using safety bases, Safety Analysis Report (SAR) and Technical Specification Requirements (TSR). ]

  • Understand and clearly describe complex nuclear designs, analyses and their requirements.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information:

  • 470 - ($130,980 - $268,680). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
