NRH Centre PT Recreation Coordinator

Position Description

This position will plan, organize, coordinate and oversee a variety of recreational programs, activities and events. This is accomplished by researching and making recommendations related to current trends and the expressed needs of the community.

Assistance with program development for NRH day camps will also be part of this position. Programming will be for a wide variety of age groups and have an emphasis on children, youth and family programs.

This person will coordinate, lead and monitor programs that will be held primarily at the NRH Centre; however, City of North Richland Hills park and trail sites may be utilized for programs.

This position is responsible for the recruitment and work performance of contract program instructors, volunteers and vendors. Ensure that quality programming is delivered to participants providing excellent customer service practices and evaluation of programs will be conducted. Responsibilities also include program enrollment, expense and revenue tracking and assistance with budget preparation for programs developed.

What We're Looking For

Recreation Programs Coordinator - P/T - Candidates should be familiar with the philosophy and objectives of municipal recreation and understand the techniques of program and event planning. Ability to develop a variety of recreation programs and events to meet the community needs required.

Must work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Preferred education is a Bachelor's degree in Recreation & Leisure studies or related field and two years of recreation programming. Other educational backgrounds in social sciences could be considered with work experience including education, training, and hands-on experience emphasizing coordination of programs and services. Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and CPR/AED and First Aid Certified also required.

Additional Information

Typical Work Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional weekends.
