Position Overview:

Position: Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Acute, Department of Radiation Oncology

Location: Capital Health, Pennington, NJ

Our Department of Radiation Oncology integrates cutting-edge technology and a multidisciplinary approach to offer personalized treatment plans. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PA or NP to join our dynamic team in the Department of Radiation Oncology. This role is vital in providing comprehensive care to our patients, both in outpatient and inpatient settings, as well as fulfilling administrative duties to support the department's mission. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a team of highly skilled professionals, including radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of radiation oncology patients, including history taking, physical examinations, and ordering of appropriate diagnostic tests.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans in collaboration with the radiation oncology team.

  • Provide follow-up care and manage side effects in both outpatient and inpatient settings, ensuring high-quality continuity of care.

  • Triage and manage urgent visits, offering immediate care and decision-making support.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and progress.

Administrative Duties:

  • Contribute to the development of treatment protocols and departmental policies.

  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and departmental efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in accordance with legal and departmental standards.

  • Allocate protected time for administrative duties, including research activities, as appropriate.

Educational and Professional Development:

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in radiation oncology through continuous education and professional development.

  • Participate in teaching and mentoring of staff and students, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Physician Assistant

  • Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program, approved by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

  • One-year experience working with primary care management or acute care preferred.

  • NJ Physician Assistant License.

  • Nurse Practitioner

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing and Master's degree in advanced clinical practice or graduate of post Master's certificate program for nurse practitioner.

  • One-year experience working with primary care management or acute care preferred.

  • Advanced Practice Nurse - NJ License
