You are responsible for

  • Working collaboratively with R&D to lead a cross-functional engineering team to bring cutting edge Ultrasound transducer products into production with solid business results and high quality.

  • Using platform manufacturing techniques to leverage existing architectures and processes to ensure new products are highly manufactured.

  • Planning and scheduling project work across the SC function

  • Identifying risks and build strong mitigation plans

  • Leading the extended team via daily management to meet deadlines with high quality and full compliance

You are a part of

This role will be a part of the Transducer Supply Chain Engineering Team in Reedsville, PA.

Transducer Supply Chain Engineering at Philips Ultrasound develops manufacturing processes for the most innovative medical ultrasound equipment in the industry. We work in a fast paced, process driven environment building high quality medical devices that lead our industry and improve people's lives.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

  • A minimum of five years' experience developing and transitioning products from R&D into production.

  • Very strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills. Must be able to communicate effectively across the entire organization.

  • Must have demonstrated strong team leadership and excellent project management skills.

  • Must be a strong self-starter who takes initiative.

  • Proven and demonstrated problem solving skills are required.

  • Significant experience in manufacturing process development and statistical engineering tools is required.

  • Must be proficient with MS Project. Solid Works and Mini-tab skills are a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience with the validation, documentation, and manufacture of medical devices

  • Green belt/black belt certification

The Sr. Level Manufacturing Engineer position provides the successful candidate with an immediate opportunity to be involved with technology that helps save lives, improve patient outcomes, and reduce the cost of medicine around the world. Philips is a leading innovator in the Ultrasound Imaging, and at the heart of every Ultrasound System is a transducer. Transducer technology is a cornerstone in the Philips Healthcare portfolio. As an international organization, Philips is well placed to offer a broad range of technical and leadership opportunities in various organizations throughout the world. Your Team: The Supply Chain Engineering team, based in Reedsville, PA, consists of 30 other engineers with diverse backgrounds and expertise. The Supply Chain Engineering team works in close collaboration with Operations, R&D, Purchasing, and Q&R locally and across the global. The fast paced environment places emphasis on a first time right approach, as such in-depth knowledge of product design, root-cause analysis and regulatory compliance. You are responsible for: * Developing and implementing new methods of manufacturing including the use of automation. * Provide technical support to resolve manufacturing and quality problems, including yield and nonconforming product. Drive corrective action with appropriate and detailed follow up. * Identify, analyze and implement cost reduction projects, cycle time improvements, and lean manufacturing techniques to improve product cost structure. * Develop and execute design and process verification activities, including statistical analysis, similarity, and testing. * Work collaboratively with R&D to develop new processes and transition new transducers designs into manufacturing. * Identify, specify, and coordinate installation of new manufacturing equipment and upgrades for process improvement. * Complete process validation for new equipment.
