Position Summary:

The Project Engineer II supports new product development by managing projects, assisting with Stage Gate requirements, and providing engineering analysis on new product designs. The Project Engineer II role works with cross-functional teams and has a healthy level of autonomy. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing portions of the new product design process.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading portions of the design process, completing assigned tasks, assisting other members of the team, and helping to ensure project completion in accordance with the schedule.

  • Develop schedules, coordinate and manage low complexity projects of with little to no supervision.

  • Prepares budgets and defines resource needs for projects or parts of projects in area of responsibility.

  • Assists with completion of the Product Realization Stage Gate Requirements.

  • Responsible for ensuring that project meets requirements of specifications and standards, while promoting error-proof assembly.

  • Responsible for creation of project test plan and completion of inside and outside test programs.

  • Construct and test prototype components or assemblies as required in the development and approval process.

  • Responsible for reviewing test data and ensuring testing is inline with the test plan and pre-test calculations, and meets or exceeds G&W requirements.

  • Perform engineering analysis in design of new products and their subcomponents

  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting on the new and existing products and processes

  • Prepare written documentation of processes, material requirements, test results and project activity as required.

  • Interface with purchasing and vendors in the selection and approval of component parts and assemblies.

  • Provide Engineering support to Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing on new and existing products and processes.

  • Consult with Customer representatives to discuss product requirements and specifications when design or manufacturing problems are involved

  • Give direction to supporting personnel such as Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.

  • Follow established procedures for creation and maintenance of CAD databases and libraries.

  • Participate in the review of engineering drawings prior to the release to manufacture. Responsible for final approval of applicable drawings.

  • Ensure that selected parts and processes meet project and company goals for cost efficiency and reliability.

  • May perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering as required

  • 3 years progressive experience in Engineering design and/or development which includes

  • Experience with 3D parametric modeling

  • Experience working on highly technical and involved projects. Desire to be constantly challenged with new problems.

  • Familiar with new product development Stage Gate Process.

  • Effectively communicate; prepare presentations, update reports and lead project meetings

  • Technical knowledge in the following categories required:

  • Motor operators, current and voltage sensing, impact of grounding and voltage surges, and powers systems.

  • Analog and digital circuit board design.

  • Electrical: Able to use soldering iron and appropriate small hand and power tools.

  • Mechanical: Able to use small hand and power tools.

  • Proven experience with computers; Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project

  • Electrical: SPICE software or equivalents

  • Able to write technical documents, like test reports, engineering standards and technical papers.

  • Able to read and interpret technical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DFMEA strongly preferred

  • ProE/Creo and Finite Element a plus

  • Medium/high voltage electrical power systems

  • The ideal candidate will have a history of creativity, innovation, and initiative. A self-starter driven to learn new methodologies.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions:

  • General Office Environment, PC use

  • Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less)

  • Stooping

  • Standing

The Infrastructure Engineer will oversee deployment, maintenance, and configuration of all servers and business-critical applications, monitor performance, and diagnose server and networking issues. Primary/Essential Responsibilities: * Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and operating systems * Install, configure, and maintain business-critical applications * Patch system firmware and software including operating system updates * Monitor all server and network infrastructure * Act as a technical escalation point for IT Support team * Escalation for it support services provide mentorship and coaching * Coordinate hardware upgrades/replacements * Maintain system documentation * Configure and maintain SAN infrastructure and data storage * Maintain and configure network devices including switches and firewalls * Ensure enterprise security is aligned with industry best-practices * Configure and maintain VOIP telephony system Required Qualifications: * BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience. * 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience * 2-3 years of experience with Aruba switches, firewalls, VPN, and Cisco VOIP * 2-3 years experience with Office 365 and Azure cloud migrations * 2+ years of experience with configuring Windows servers * 2+ years of experience with performing system administrative tasks in enterprise-level environments * Excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills * Strong knowledge of server operating systems including Windows Server 2003, 2008, and 2012 and RedHat Linux * Experience VMware vSphere ESX and vCenter * Comfortable with SAN hardware and storage protocols * Comfortable with scripting languages including PowerShell and Python * Experience with layer-2 and layer-3 networking protocols * Experience with infrastructure monitoring systems Preferred Qualifications: * VMware certifications preferred * Experience with Citrix XenServer, XenApp, and XenDesktop * Experience and certifications for Azure Cloud infrastructure * Experience with Ivanti * Experience with global infrastructure environments G&W Electric is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
