Position Summary
The North Texas Ready-Mix District Finance Manager provides financial accounting, analyses and decision support to the District Management team. This position works to improve understanding of key business drivers and maximize results. Identification and implementation of best practices and process improvements is a key component of this role. This role reports directly to the Division Controller with a dotted line to the District General Manager and Regional Vice President.
Essential Functions:
Effectively manage the district's financial cycle (financial closings- monthly, quarterly, annually)
Assemble budgets, forecasts, and monthly reports and identify business issues based on financial analysis
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and internal controls and provide guidance to district internal controls as needed
Provide analysis support for CAPEX requests and justification
Accounting for company assets through field visits and collaboration
Effective linkage of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other financial performance analyses with financial reporting
Support and partner with Corporate, Division and District management teams as the District's key point of contact for financial matters
Perform standard and ad hoc analyses for management to support key business decisions
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
Identify and implement improvements in processes, reporting and analyses
Effective management and mentoring of direct reports
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
Professional designation required (CPA or CMA)
5+ years of finance/accounting experience
3+ years of supervisory experience
Construction materials experience a plus
Demonstrated ability in financial/business analysis
Must have a strategic business focus and ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately
GAAP knowledge
This position will be based out of our Dallas, TX office
Working Conditions
An office environment with occasional off-site visits at a plant, different office or overnight travel for trainings/meetings. Position may require working early mornings or late afternoons
