Dow's Packaging and Specialties Polymers is an industry leading $20Bn business participating in a diverse set of markets including packaging, infrastructure, consumer and transportation, with multiple portfolios including polyethylene, elastomers and specialty copolymers, among others.

Sustainable packaging and recycling are some of the most critical market needs within the Packaging market in North America. Dow's P&SP business is seeking a Marketing Manager to drive the long-term strategy and value growth for recycling product offerings within the Packaging end-use market segments.

This role will report to the North American End-Use Marketing Leader with alignment to the North & Latin American Recycling Business Director.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Lead NA Recycling Market Management Team, coordinate strategic marketing initiatives, including product development, promotion and pricing.

  • Analyze market sizing, dynamics, competitive intelligence, and customer dynamics to create an effective plan to develop and grow Dow's product offering in recycled products to the Packaging markets

  • Clearly articulate and sell the long-term vision for the market and translate it into actions

  • Collaborate cross functionally with the MMTs, R&D, and TS&D to initiate, develop, and drive the segment innovation pipeline using PD-Trak.

  • Lead the development and implementation of long term market plans (Analysis, Long Term View, 4Ps, Key Initiatives, Annual Plan) including strategy and implementation, profitability and plan for continuous growth.

  • Drive implementation of Marketing Communication plan with Communications and leads the definition and use of promotional strategies and communication tools

  • Ensure effective use of resourcing for segment including Sales, MDMs, Communications, and TS&D.

  • Deep and broad understanding of the industry, market insight beyond what does the customer think, to what does unrecognized need does customer have? Can translate answers into a business concept. Can connect dots in ways others do not.

  • Communication, ability to work with and develop productive relationships with other functions, internal and external stakeholders and partners

  • Ability to assess state of business, find issues before they becomes crisis, using financial acumen to self-assess business trajectory based on current and historical data.

  • Ability to consume, understand, and act on large quantities of information and data in the form of ROCs, industry data, communications, and financial/sales data.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and longer term horizons, risk-taking, not afraid of unique/disruptive technologies/business models

  • Minimum of 5 years of Marketing, Commercial or Technical Service & Development experience

  • Excellent business acumen and strategic mindset with strong implementation skills

  • Ability to work in highly matrixed organization; working effectively across all regions; strong emotional intelligence

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA is an asset

  • 7 - 10 years of professional experience in the recycling, packaging or petrochemical industries

  • Project management experience

Typical Travel: Requires moderate to extensive travel within NA.
