Job Description:

Position Description:

The North American Planning Leader has overall responsibility for materials scheduling, transfer and distribution for operational units in Duncan, SC and Minneapolis, MN sites. This leader will lead site based planning teams supporting all New Equipment and Aftermarket operations with the goal of delivering on expectations that build Customer Trust. This role will leverage LEAN best practices to deliver our products with excellence. The North American Planning Leader is responsible for providing insightful leadership by encouraging others to discover, develop and apply their talents enabling them to reach their full potential.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead S&OP processes with Sales, Operations and Supply Chain inputs to gain alignment to a consensus forecast, identification of risks and opportunities, and the coordination of action items and improvement efforts following and according with the North America Supply Chain Leader guidelines and processes.

  • Lead the sites in the process outlining supply / demand balance gaps and mitigating actions.

  • Mentor, develop and provide training to direct reports to drive process standardization and rigor in all planning and materials management activities. Incudes process optimization, development of standard work and training documentation for the value stream planners.

  • Prioritize and deploy teams daily based on business needs.

  • Responsible for executing site based effective, timely Master Planning processes that delivers accurate, stable demand signals to create feasible production schedules and optimize inventory and production capacity.

  • Ensure key metric (KPI) reporting is in place that facilitates accurate forecasting and planning processes used within the organization.

  • Monitor, execute and improve the MRP processes and execution of tasks related to MRP.

  • Improve material availability to support internal production and customer requirements. Use Capacity Planning tools to determine if production will be constrained in future periods; load level production plan and identify potential corrective actions such as: working overtime, adding equipment, outsourcing or expediting as well as balancing resources and capacity across all BW Flexible System sites.

  • Work closely with value stream planners and inventory control leader to optimize inventory levels through improved material planning, supplier stocking programs, lead time reductions, etc.

  • Develop business policies and implement the associated metrics to monitor data accuracy, validity, and completeness impacting downstream planning and fulfilment processes (ERP item master, BoMs, routings, etc).

  • Identify and leverage opportunities to continually improve the quality of data, processes and standards.

  • Initiate and drive projects for continuous improvement on inventory accuracy and planning.

  • Maintain the highest level of ethical, safety, and quality standards.

Job Specifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the following in a manufacturing / distribution environment:

  • Materials Management / Master Scheduling

  • Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) - Integrated Business Planning (IBP)

  • Forecasting

  • Capacity Planning

  • Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)

  • Advanced understanding and application of lean manufacturing principles.

  • Proven leadership abilities and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.

  • Proficient with ERP systems.

  • Strong experience in performance metrics and process implementation and improvement.

  • Project management skills/background.

  • Models and supports organization's goals and values; adapts to changing conditions; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles.

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media.

  • Action oriented and solution-driven thinking.

  • Strong influencing skills - ability to influence & collaborate across functional and geographic boundaries as well as across organizational tiers.

Required Education and Experience:

  • BA Degree in Materials Management, Business Administration, Technical, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 6 years of supply chain and operations experience

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in Supply Chain functions (materials planning, scheduling or purchasing)

Work Environment:

This is an office position associated with a manufacturing facility. Although the employee may spend a portion of his/her time in the office area, the employee's essential job duties also require the employee to spend a portion of his/her time in the manufacturing area. The employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by the employer when in the manufacturing area.

Travel:

Brooklyn Park, MN based

  • Occasional domestic travel may be required for this position (10%)

Duncan, SC based

  • Frequent domestic travel is required for this position (30%)
