OverActive Media began operations in November 2018 to build an integrated company delivering eSports and video game entertainment experiences to fans in Canada and around the world through franchise ownership, strategic partnerships, investments, and acquisitions. We are the fourth company to own both a professional League of Legends and Overwatch franchise. We are combining team ownership with audience engagement to better connect with our current fans and to introduce these exciting competitions to new fans.

OverActive owns a controlling interest in an Overwatch League franchise for the City of Toronto and surrounding area. This is Canadas first professional esports franchise in the worlds premier esports league. In partnership with Activision-Blizzard and The Overwatch League, this expansion franchise will launch for the Leagues second season on February 14, 2019 and will play at a Toronto-based venue beginning in 2020.

Splyce Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of OverActive, will operate out of Rochester, N.Y. and will have primary responsibility for the management of the competitive elements of each team.


Reporting to the Executive Producer and based in OverActive Medias Rochester Office, the North American CWL Editor is an integral member of the Content Team expanding our team of storytellers and helping to drive the narrative around our pro team coverage. The successful candidate must be US-Based or have valid US working documents and be comfortable with some travel, which may include some weekends.

A Self-Starter This role will work very closely with our Creative Director, but who will also be expected to work autonomously to manage their own projects/time appropriately, in order to meet the fast-paced demands of our business.

  • Video editing for our Call of Duty, Smite, Rocket League, and Starcraft properties.
  • Corresponding directly with content staff to fulfill practical, everyday production needs, while remaining on schedule.
  • Collaborating with Marketing Department, to ensure their social media video content needs are being met.
  • Planning and coordinating project details with other departments within the organization as well as with outside content and corporate sponsors
  • Writing short scripts and treatments
  • Ensuring video standards and consistency is met for all videos that are developed internally and externally.
  • Managing branded deliverables and ensuring the assets are completed on schedule.
  • Special projects as may be assigned


Education and Experience

  • University degree or college diploma in a field related to TV or film production (or equivalent experience) considered an asset.
  • 3+years of previous experience in field production at a small to medium-sized studio environment
  • 3+ years of editing experience (using Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, including Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects, etc.)
  • Understanding of cinematographic concepts with a working knowledge of Adobe After Effects or similar motion graphics programs

  • Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the flexibility and experience required to adjust to rapidly changing schedules and shifting priorities;
  • A hands-on problem solver and critical thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Motivated by highly collaborative, fast-paced environments, with the ability to balance several projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable on digital marketing and current content trends.
  • Has a valid US Passport.
